AMAYDA Program
As a school we have been engaging in the AMAYDA antibullying program since the beginning of the year. Students have been learning to:
- Have respect for yourself and others
- Have to courage to do the right thing, even when you’re scared and to make the right decisions when subjected to peer pressure
- Have the integrity to do what you say you’re going to do
- Build resilience, by strengthening their self-image, enabling student to recover quickly when faced with adversity.
It has been wonderful to watch the first 60 students undertake and program and we look forward to another 20 students completing the program in term 4.
Exciting changes in Year 7 for 2022
In 2022, our year 7 program is undertaking a huge make over. In 2022 we will create an environment for students the models the safe and supportive primary school environment. This will support the transition to secondary school and reduce the number of changes students need to handle.
Here are some of the changes we have made to support this commitment;
- Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent on upgrading classrooms and outdoor learning spaces ready for the class of 2022.
- All year 7 students will have a core teacher. This teacher will teach students four subjects which will develop relationships and consistency for everyone.
- The core teachers will be the pastoral care support person for each of their core class students. This gives parents one central person to speak with to ensure success.
- Year 7 will have a customised building which will be their main classroom for all core classes.
- All students will experience the full range of subjects on offer in years 9-12 in rotational subjects. These include Technology, Hospitality, The ARTs and HPE.
- Mentoring programs with Year 10, 11 and 12 students have been developed to create a positive link across the school.
- Specifically designed program to promote antibullying, cybersaftey, healthy relationships and healthy choices.
Our vision for all students is to begin and establish a learning pathway to leads to their best future. For more information about the exciting new changes occurring in 2022 or for enrolment details please contact the office on 49247888.
