PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
As we move into the second half of Term 3, there is a strong sense of focus across the school. It’s great to see so many students working hard and engaging purposefully in their learning. With assessment blocks fast approaching, we remind families that consistent attendance remains one of the most important factors in student success. Everyday matters. If your child is unwell and unable to attend, please ensure you notify the school—and encourage them to stay in touch with their teachers and ask for support to catch up. Our staff and support teams are always here to help.
This is also a good time to reflect on how we support our young people to build independence and resilience—two skills that will carry them well beyond school. Learning to manage deadlines, face challenges, and take responsibility for their own success can be hard, but it’s also incredibly valuable. As parents and carers, it’s natural to want to step in and remove obstacles, but often the most powerful growth happens when we guide from the side, rather than lead from the front. If you’re ever unsure how to support your child through a school-based challenge, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s sub-school team. We can work together to help students develop the confidence and skills they need to thrive.
A reminder too about the importance of school uniform. Wearing the correct uniform with pride reflects a shared commitment to high standards and creates a sense of belonging for all students. It also plays an important role in preparing young people for life beyond school, where expectations around presentation are common in both work and training environments. The uniform shop is open from 8:00–9:00am on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Please note that from the beginning of 2026, grey jumpers and grey tracksuit pants will no longer be part of the NRHS uniform policy. Students will be required to wear maroon items only. If your family needs support in accessing the correct uniform, please reach out to your child’s sub-school team.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we can ensure all students finish the term strong, confident, and ready for what’s next.
Warm regards,
Amanda Pearce
