PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

A Strong Start to Term 3!

We’ve had a fantastic start to Term 3, with great energy across the school and students settling quickly into learning. It’s been a pleasure to see our young people engaging with focus, enthusiasm, and a readiness to engage positively in school life.

We’re also pleased to see some exciting facilities upgrades underway. The tuckshop is being modernised, K Block is receiving a new roof, and our Hall is undergoing significant improvements to better support whole-school events, performances, and celebrations. These enhancements will help create a more engaging and supportive environment for both learning and community connection.

High Expectations, Positive Culture

We’d like to remind families of the key expectations that help ensure a respectful, safe and successful school environment:

  • Full school uniform worn with pride
  • Phones off and away between 9:00am and 3:00pm
  • Respectful, appropriate language used at all times
  • Following staff directions promptly and respectfully

These expectations help us develop capable, confident Hawks learners—young people who are resilient, resourceful, reflective, and collaborative in all areas of their learning and life.

Every Day Counts

Attendance matters. Being at school every day gives students the best chance to learn, grow friendships, and succeed. Even one or two days missed a fortnight adds up quickly across the term or year. Unless your child is unwell or has a valid reason to be away, it’s essential they are at school, on time, every day. Every day counts.

If your child is struggling with attendance, please contact the school—we’re here to help.

Need Support? We’re Here

If your child needs support, they are not alone. Our school offers a wide range of learning and wellbeing services to ensure every student can reach their potential:

  • Curriculum support: Faculty Heads of Department (HODs)
  • Wellbeing support: Sub-school HODs, Year Level Coordinators
  • Student Support team:
    • GP in State Schools clinic
    • School-based Youth Health Nurse (SBYHN)
    • Community Education Counsellor (CEC)
    • Youth Support Coordinators (YSC)
    • ARTIE Program Facilitators (including Driver education program)
    • School-based Psychologist
    • Social Worker
    • Guidance Officers

Please reach out to your child’s year level coordinator or the relevant support staff if you have concerns—we’re here to work with you.

Let’s keep the momentum going for a strong and successful Term 3!
