HAWKS Sports 

It has been a busy and exciting start to the year for HAWKS school sport at North Rockhampton State High School. It is pleasing to see many students participating in trials for the Rockhampton District Sports (RDS) teams. Congratulations to those who have been successfully selected. Our school consistently produces students who represent not only our region but also state and national teams. Special recognition goes to our students who have recently progressed from district selection to representing Capricornia—well done on this outstanding achievement.

Our annual Swimming Carnival was once again a highlight this year, featuring excellent participation rates and impressive performances, including two new school records set by Hogan Kneen. The conduct and enthusiasm of students throughout the event were exceptional.

North Rockhampton State High School has actively competed in Interschool Sport this term, represented by our Junior and Senior Boys Futsal teams. The Junior Boys team is enjoyed a lively and competitive season, under the enthusiastic leadership of Mrs Wines—thank you for your commitment and support. The Senior Boys team has shown excellent form and well positioned to contest the finals. The Girls Basketball team also had a commendable season, although narrowly missed out on advancing to the Grand Final.

A sincere thank you to all staff members and volunteers who generously give their time to coach and manage these teams. Your dedication is greatly appreciated by all students involved.

Upcoming Events:

Term 2 Sports: Next term will be busy, with school teams being nominated for Boys Basketball, Boys and Girls AFL, Boys Soccer, Girls Rugby League, and Girls Netball competitions. Students are reminded to ensure all consent forms are returned promptly.
